Field trips at Scott’s Orchard are a fun and educational experience designed to give students, teachers, and parents a memorable day on the farm. From learning how a working orchard operates to picking fresh fruit straight from the trees, we offer a hands-on learning environment that brings agriculture to life.

To help everything run smoothly and safely, we’ve put together a few important guidelines and a breakdown of what you can expect during your visit.

what to expect during your tour

We have a full day of farm fun and learning planned! While the exact order of activities can vary depending on teacher preferences, weather, and staff scheduling, a typical day includes:

• Welcome & Orientation: Check-in occurs 15 minutes before your scheduled arrival time for a facility and operations overview.
• The Tractor Wagon Ride: Wagon loading and farm departure for a scenic, guided journey into the orchard.
• Orchard Tour & Education: A hands-on orchard tour experience and interactive learning stations at our outdoor pavilion.
• Pick-Your-Own Fruit: Every paying individual receives a ¼ peck bag to pick their very own fresh apples to take home!
• Play & Shop: Free access to our playground area and time to explore the treats inside the Farm Store.

parent & Visitor Guidelines

To maintain safety standards, stick to our schedule, and ensure the best experience for the students, all attending parents and adult guests must adhere to the following rules:

registration & Attendance

• No Walk-Ups Permitted: All parents attending the field trip must register and pay directly through the coordinating teacher or school ahead of time. You must be listed on the official school roster to participate.

arrival & timing is Critical

• Arrive 15 Minutes Early: Parents are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled school bus arrival for check-in and a mandatory, short parent informational meeting.
• Wagon Tour Cutoff: Guests who miss the parent meeting will not be able to join the wagon tour.
• Missed Departures: If a parent or guardian misses the wagon departure, they will not be allowed to join the wagon or the educational portion of the field trip. However, you are still welcome to join the students for apple picking once they return to the main farm area.

parking information

• Park in the Designated Area: Please park in the grassy area to the left of the Farm Store.
• Note: The paved parking lot directly in front of the store is strictly reserved for daily retail customers.

sibling policy

• No Siblings Allowed: To keep the experience focused on the students and stay within strict tractor-wagon weight and seating capacities, we kindly ask that siblings do not attend school field trips.

lunch information

We’ll Handle the Heavy Lifting: If your group brings lunches, please leave them at the check-in counter upon arrival. Our team will gladly transport them to the pavilion or designated picnic area so they are ready for you at lunchtime!

Bring Your Own: As a working rural farm, prepared lunch options are not provided. You are welcome and encouraged to bring a sack lunch in accordance with your school and teacher guidelines.
