Dutch Apple Pie
Ingredients
For Crust:
- 4 tablespoons cold butter
- 3-4 tablespoons water
For Topping:
- 6 medium apples
- 1/2 sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter
Instructions
In a bowl, toss sliced apples, sugar and two T of white Pie Mix. In a separate bowl, pour white pie mix. Cut in 4 T butter. While stirring with fork, sprinkle water over mixture 1 T at a time, just until all flour is moistened and forms a ball. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill in freezer for 20 mins. Take dough out of freezer pat into a circle on a floured work surface and roll with a rolling pin to 1/8″ thick or large enough to line a 9″ pie dish. Add apple mixture. Melt 6 T of butter and stir with brown topping mix. Sprinkle the mixture on top of apples. Bake for 35-40 min. in a 400 degrees oven until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temp.
